Dana?

What is Dana?

Dana is the practice of generosity in Buddhism. It involves giving selflessly without expecting anything in return. Dana is one of the Six Paramitas (Perfections) in Mahayana Buddhism, leading to enlightenment and fostering compassion and kindness.

How does Dana relate to the "Meet Ksitigarbha" project?

Your contributions to the "Meet Ksitigarbha" project are an expression of Dana. By donating, you help support the creation and distribution of this meaningful book, spreading the teachings of Ksitigarbha and promoting compassion and understanding.

When will "Meet Ksitigarbha" be released?

The book is set to launch in 2024. Stay tuned for the exact date!

How can I reserve a copy of the book?

How can I contribute to the project?

Visit our donations page to learn more about how you can support the project through Dana (generosity). Any amount less than the print run amount required will go into the publication funds instead.

Where do the contributions go?

All amounts received will be contributed directly to Di Zang Lin, unless they are from overseas, in which case TWBC will collect on behalf of Di Zang Lin.

Are the sponsorships tax-deductible?

No. While Di Zang Lin is a non-profit organization, it is not an Institution of a Public Character (IPC). Therefore, sponsorships are non-refundable and non-tax deductible.

Will the book be available in other languages?

We have plans to translate the publication into other languages. Kindly contact us if you wish to discuss this further.

How much does it cost to buy the book?

The books are distributed for free and are not for sale.

How much of the sponsorship amount actually goes to book printing? How do you allocate the funds?

A significant portion of the sponsorship amount is allocated to printing and production costs. Other expenses include logistics, GST, royalties, marketing, layout design, and miscellaneous costs. This ensures the high quality and longevity of the book.

How can I help?

You can help by sharing information about the book, donating any amount, and assisting us in distributing copies of the book.

Can I print the books on my own?

No, we have a specific printing company and we are particular about the quality of the book. The books we print are meant to last for a long time and to be passed on globally.

Can acknowledgements be made in honor of an individual in the printed book?

Yes, sponsors can have their names printed on the back cover of the book in honor of an individual. We allow up to three names for such acknowledgements.

What if I have a story of my own and would like to publish a book about Ksitigarbha?

You can drop us an email at contact@thewishingbookcompany.com to discuss with the publisher, The Wishing Book Company Pte Ltd. They will assess and discuss with the chief abbot.

I notice an error in your website or book. What should I do?

Thank you for noticing the error. Even bestsellers have mistakes. Kindly email us at contact@thewishingbookcompany.com.

Why only 500 copies?

We noticed that most Buddhist books are printed in large quantities, which is not environmentally friendly. We want to make the books more exclusive and high quality. With better quality, we aim to attract attention. The era is changing, and so are we.

Can I photocopy the book?

Due to copyright and to ensure quality, we do not allow the book to be printed in other forms. Contact us if you require the book for educational purposes. We do receive requests from non-profit schools, and we will try to get sponsors, print the books, and send them over.

How can I stay updated on the book's progress and related events?

You can join our mailing list to receive the latest updates, news, and event information about "Meet Ksitigarbha" and other projects.

Are there any volunteer opportunities related to this project?

Yes, we welcome volunteers to help with various aspects of the project, including distribution and event organization. Please contact us at contact@thewishingbookcompany.com to learn more about volunteer opportunities.
